Trou aux Biches is situation in the North-West. Originally a fishermen's village, it has grown into a thriving Mauritian resort centred on the top Trou aux Biches Hotel.

This beach captures all of the essence of Mauritius: a long, lazy stretch of smooth, silver sand shaded by casuarinas trees and gently lapped by a calm expanse of the ocean. What's more is that its attractions extend beyond soaking up the sun and there is something for everyone.

Here the water is shallow and very protected by the lagoon - good for the little ones; it is also perfect for novice snorkelers as it's easy to reach the beautiful coral-reefs with their spectacular fishes. For the avid fans of water sports, there is a host of options: from diving and water-skiing to windsurfing and yachting. Glass-bottomed boats trips give everyone the opportunity to see the wonderful sea life.

Besides the ocean attractions, this beach is close to the Mauritius Aquarium where you can see all of the local marine life. You can also visit the nearby Hindu temple and learn the differences of that culture. The 9-hole golf course and tennis courts at the Trou aux Biches Hotel are also popular for visitors.

Evening entertainment abounds; there is the hotel casino, cruises, dancing and more.

If you are looking for accommodation, besides the fabulous village-style, 4-star, Trou aux Biches Hotel, there is:
