This area is where you want to be for lazy days, good swimming and long beach walks. The beach extends 8km (5 miles) South to Palmar and Trou d'Eau Douce beaches. It is lined with coconut and casuarinas trees and stretches into a deep lagoon.
Belle Mare is known for its pristine beach and calm waters. It calls for walkers and joggers who can enjoy a lengthy stroll or run.
There is a nearby waterpark for fun slides and several popular golf courses which attract visitors.
Climb one of the abandoned lime kilns around this area - especially the one north of Belle Mare which is in good condition - and enjoy the extensive views.
